JOB PURPOSE:
To develop Cat and dealer New Product Introduction prime product machine and application training and provide consulting services to dealers and customers. This includes dealer/customer training strategies, and customer consulting throughout the world for various products. The position works closely with other Product team members, engineering, product support, service engineering, and field Territory Managers and Product Support representatives.

JOB DUTIES:
Primary roles of the Product Specialist are to become an industry expert in areas of various products as required, manage and coordinate dealer and customer visits to support customer requirements and represent Caterpillar in local industry and trade associations programs. Responsible for monitoring industry and competitive trends to provide influence and represent Business Unit in NPI programs for product families.

Additionally, this position provides assistance On existing and potential customer issues and improvement measures within the industry. Assist dealers by supporting roll out of new products (e.g., products, parts, work tools, customer service agreements, other service products); configuration and utilization that provide the best solution for a customer; helping to create and promote programs that increase sales while maximizing price realization; develops required proficiency level in the specified foundation competencies and skills.
The top-level deliverables of this position are as follows:
? Development of dealer specialist(s)
? VET development
? Dealer sales and product application and feature/benefit training
? NPI Training
? New Machine launch events
? Sales support On current products
? Competitive product knowledge and selling skills
This position involves approximately 25% travel.
BACKGROUND/ EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a business, marketing, or degree in engineering or equivalent, minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing or related business, a strong business understanding with experience in marketing applications and products along with an understanding of Caterpillar dealers. Experience in product support is also highly desired. This position requires a motivated, proactive decision maker with an ability to work well with dealers but also customers. Candidate must be a proactive voice for the brand in the field.
